Pro-Pain Unleash “Stone Cold Anger” Lyric Video Ahead of First Album in 11 Years

Eleven years is a long time to keep a pit waiting. Lucky for us, New York hardcore heroes Pro-Pain are not the type to come back quietly. The legendary outfit has dropped the lyric video for “Stone Cold Anger,” the title track and final single from their forthcoming 16th studio album — a record that lands this Friday, May 15, via Napalm Records, marking their first full-length in over a decade.

“Stone Cold Anger” is exactly the kind of song you want from a band returning to the ring after that long off. It launches with soaring, melodic guitar work that quickly gives way to frontman Gary Meskil’s commanding bark, then locks into the kind of groove-laden, two-step-friendly assault that built Pro-Pain’s reputation in the first place. If you were worried about ring rust, don’t be. The riffs are mean, the vocals are venomous, and the message has teeth.

Meskil isn’t shy about where the fury comes from. “‘Stone Cold Anger’ gives voice to the raw frustration millions feel right now,” he explains. “People are weary of prolonged conflicts, persistent corruption, and the gradual erosion of the rights they expect their elected officials to protect. The need for accountability is clear, and the question before us remains: If not now, then when?”

That’s the thesis of the whole album, really. Stone Cold Anger is Pro-Pain’s debut on Napalm Records and features the return of former guitarist Eric Klinger, rounding out a lineup that also includes drummer Jonas Sanders and lead guitarist Greg Discenza. Across ten tracks — from the punishing opener “Oceans Of Blood” to the anthemic closer “Sky’s The Limit” — the band sounds like they never left, channeling 35 years of road-tested hardcore into a record forged, as Meskil puts it, “from global tension and the rising demand for accountability.”

Pro-Pain is currently tearing across Europe in support of the record, with festival stops and club shows booked from Germany and the Netherlands to Belgium, Poland, Sweden, and the Czech Republic through late summer, plus a return run in the Netherlands in November.
