SAINT SATINE Unveiled: HYBE x Geffen’s New Global Girl Group Adds SAKURA as Final Member
The wait is over, and the next great pop experiment from HYBE x Geffen Records finally has a name: SAINT SATINE. Revealed in conjunction with the finale of WORLD SCOUT: THE FINAL PIECE, which aired today on Japan’s ABEMA streaming service, the four-member global girl group is already drawing comparisons to its older sibling KATSEYE — and judging by the debut track, it’s not hard to see why.
If three of these names sound familiar, that’s because they should. EMILY (20, USA), LEXIE (21, Sweden), and SAMARA (20, Brazil) first captured international attention through Netflix’s Pop Star Academy: KATSEYE docuseries, where they built a devoted following despite not making the final lineup. They’ve now been joined by SAKURA (16, Japan), a newly discovered force who beat out more than 14,000 applicants in a Japan-based search documented across the WORLD SCOUT: THE FINAL PIECE series.
To mark the occasion, HYBE x Geffen Records dropped the two-track digital single album World Scout: The Final Piece – Finale today. The release captures the high-stakes final showdown between SAKURA and runner-up AYANA, with each finalist getting a chance to perform alongside Emily, Lexie, and Samara.
The lead track, “PARTY b4 the PARTY,” is the song that sealed SAKURA’s spot in the group — and it absolutely rips. Built on playful percussion, heavy bass switches, and a bouncy, bratty groove, the song leans hard into the universal truth that the pre-party is almost always better than the party itself. The four-part vocal chemistry is sharp, the ad-libs are fearless, and the energy is contagious.
The second track, “WE RIDE,” featuring AYANA, takes things in a softer direction. Rooted in nostalgic 2000s R&B but sleekened up for 2026, it rides silky four-part harmonies and a smooth, understated bassline — a warm, late-night counterpoint to the chaos of the A-side.
The group’s identity leans into contrast: “SAINT” symbolizes outstanding musicality and charisma, while “SATINE” speaks to a soft, elegant sophistication. As the official positioning goes, SAINT SATINE lives at the intersection of desire and transcendence — instinct meets restraint, allure meets refinement. In plainer English: they’re going to look incredibly cool while doing it.
WORLD SCOUT: THE FINAL PIECE is the latest large-scale scouting project from HYBE America in collaboration with Geffen Records, following the wildly successful Dream Academy initiative that birthed KATSEYE — a group that has since racked up two GRAMMY nominations, three American Music Awards nominations, and a No. 4 debut on the Billboard 200 with BEAUTIFUL CHAOS. (KATSEYE’s third EP, WILD, drops August 14.)
With three breakout fan favorites finally getting their shot and a freshly minted star in SAKURA, SAINT SATINE isn’t just stepping onto the global stage — they’re being engineered to redefine it.
