if you know the name, it’s probably from the Oscars, he co-wrote “Stand Up” for Harriet with Cynthia Erivo. but before Hollywood came calling, Joshuah was just a kid from Cheraw, South Carolina (same tiny town as Dizzy Gillespie), singing in church and falling in love with Gospel and Soul.

he was still in seminary when the Oscar nomination happened, and still is an ordained minister, and he still sounds like he’s testifying every time he opens his mouth
