Lil Jul dropped an EP on Friday, and he’s getting some thoughts off of his mind on the four songs of “Misery Vol1.” The beats are more subdued than usual, and Jul has autotuned flows about drugs, money, and trying to get a text back from girls. He also gets a little bit more introspective as to why he’s living that way, but those lines are buried within a series of verses that cover a wide range of topics and beats that overpower what he’s saying. “Misery Vol1” feels like a different side of Lil Jul, but one that was necessary to counter the louder version that we normally get from him.
