Judging from his music, you might not be able to tell that Andy Schmidt aka “SZNS” is from Milwaukee. His sound carries a sense of vulnerability with an upbeat tempo that reminds listeners of driving up and down the Pacific Coast Highway out west. His song “Comin’ Thru” is perhaps the best example as he writes: “PCH to Malibu you know I’m coming thru.” SZNS has embraced his sound and currently resides out in Los Angeles, according to the location on his Twitter bio. But he still carries his Wisconsin roots with him, often posting pictures in UW-Madison or Marquette clothing.
