One of our contributors, Ben Slowey, is more than on top of the local music scene. In addition to his work for Breaking And Entering, he also hosts the Mr. Nice Guy podcast, an interview-based show that reaches out to Milwaukeeans for conversations about what motivates them. Many of these shows fittingly involve the local music scene, and we’ll be sharing some of them here as well.

Recently, Ben sat down with Lex Allen. Lex had been selected as an artist for Backline, a 12-week accelerator that amplified his music career and took him to New York, LA, and London. His latest single “I.D.E.N.T.I.T.Y” just came out with a music video, and his latest album “Table 7: Sinners & Saints” came out last year. They had Bacardi with pineapple as we discussed finding his sound over the years, challenging norms, mental health and music, meanings behind his songs, and what he is working on now.
