It goes without saying that just about anything can (and will) happen in Riverwest. That includes, apparently, a secret show from Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon at Mad Planet. The show included Chris Porterfield of Field Report, members of Collections of Colonies of Bees, Mark Waldoch, Michael Rosetto, and more. Bon Iver previously played Mad Planet in 2008, as part of one of their first tours. Porterfield and Justin Vernon played in one of Vernon’s previous bands, DeYarmond Edison. Details of last night’s show are pretty scarce, but we do have a couple of photos and a short video from the show:

Really cool to see Justin Vernon jamming out in small venue like Mad Planet, where Bon Iver once played before they made it big. I believe this is him previewing some new music 🤔😍

Bon Iver will be celebrating ten years of “For Emma, Forever Ago” with a sold out show featuring Field Report and Collections of Colonies of Bees on Saturday night at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.
