Boosie Badazz Given Honorary Keys to the City of Milwaukee
We cannot stress this enough; this is a real, authentic article, and not a copy of an OnMilwaukee April Fool’s Day piece. Boosie Badazz, opting to go by the more proper, previous billing of Lil Boosie, was recently honored by the Milwaukee Common Council and the City Clerk’s office with a plaque and, according to Instagram, keys to the city. Milwaukee loves Boosie, largely for inexplicable reasons, and has become one of the city’s own over the course of his seventeen year career. From headlining the US Cellular Arena for Reggie Smooth Az Butta Brown’s birthday back in the day, to a key to the city now, Boosie is becoming a Milwaukee legend in his own right. We hope to see him sliding down the slide after a Brewers home run soon. If anyone can do it, Boosie can. How many tracks off of “Survival of the Fittest” do you think Alderman Terry Witkowski raps daily?
To be fair, Boosie did get the honorary plaque for speaking at a north side Boys and Girls Club, and visiting with the children there. While we’re a little tongue in cheek about it, it is great to see a major label artist take time to give back to the city.
