Best of ’15 (#3): Twenty One Pilots – Blurryface
2015 was HUGE for Twenty One Pilots. If you haven’t heard of them before you sure do now. Blurryface is the band’s first album to hit number one on the billboard 200 and it’s well deserved. It’s crazy blend of indie, electronic, reggae, hip hop, and pop will have you finding it hard to put this album down. There’s something for everyone here. Tyler Joseph delivers the best lyrics/vocals of his career from tackling insecurity, growing up, love, media, and even the label he’s signed to. Then there’s Josh Dun who once again proves that he’s one of the best drummers in the business. In an industry where people are scared to do different things, Twenty One Pilots prove that you can still make it by being yourself. Even if yourself is weird.
Key tracks: Stressed Out, Ride, Fairly Local, Tear In My Heart, The Judge, Polarize, We Don’t Believe What’s On TV, Goner
