Best of ’15 (#6): Death Cab For Cutie – Kintsugi

Death_Cab_For_Cutie_-_Kintsugi

Sigh….it’s really a bummer that hardly anyone gave this album a shot dispute loving Black Sun. Kintsugi is an album that’ll make you realize why you love Death Cab. The melancholy in Ben Gibbard’s voice and lyrics. The beautiful and sometimes loud instrumentals. Unlike Codes and Keys, this is 100% them, doing what they’re good at while evolving slightly in sound and production. This also happens to be Chris Walla’s final album before departing the band who has produced every other album before this one. They went out and tried a different producer and in the end we got their finest album since Plans.

Key tracks: Black Sun, Little Wanderer, You’ve Haunted Me All My Life, Hold No Guns, Binary Sea
