This week’s Milwaukee Artist of the Week is fairly new, but are generating a huge buzz already. From the fallout of Mechanical Kids and Take The Day comes powerpop hybrid The Royal. The band is still very young, only releasing a couple songs thus far, but from what they have released, they’ve seen a good response from the internet. The band was able to carry over fans from both of their previous bands, and their incredibly danceable, incredibly catchy releases have won over skeptics. While the sound definitely emphasizes the pop in powerpop, The Royal is going to able to benefit from having experienced band members, who know how to create a very polished sound. They also have an enormous buzz generating around them at the moment. The video for their first single, Freaks, debuted on the Youtube channel of Youtube celebrity Strawburry17, which generated about 13,000 views in the first day. Their second music video was released today, and will probably see some decent numbers as well. Check both videos out here:
