Milwaukee Artist of the Week – 11/23/12 – Klassik

Are you a Milwaukee musician/band? You can submit your music to be the Milwaukee Artist of the Week by emailing links to info@BreakingAndEntering.net. We’ll check out every submission we get!

This week’s Milwaukee Artist of the Week is Klassik, hands down one of the most talented musicians, let alone producer/emcees in the city. We chose the above photo because the saxophone is just one of his many talents that people don’t always get to see. Fittingly, Klassik has a tremendous influence from jazz music, which is showcased in any of the tracks that he has produced, either for himself or other local artists like The Cranberry Show, ¡OYE!, and Frankie Flowers. Even before his latest full release, “In The Making”, came out in September, he was already drawing comparisons to J. Dilla. He really is a unique talent, and all of “In The Making” shows how talented he truly is. Check out his latest video, “Anything”, directed by Xavier Ruffin, below:

Frankie Flowers – “The Local Nobodies EP”

If you don’t already know, I’m working on developing a television show about Milwaukee’s music scene. You can follow our haphazard antics/developments on Twitter here. The reason that we’re doing this is because too many amazing local artists are being slept on. Artists like Frankie Flowers are the reason I’m working on this show. This EP is more than solid, and I really hope that people catch this one from him. His last album had some success with “The Coolness”, which featured a super catchy beat from Klassik. This EP is a step in a different direction for Frankie, but my goodness does he bring it on this thing. Please go download “The Local Nobodies EP”:
