VIDEO: Hughes Family Band – “Death Of Me”

If you’re craving the days of a crowded, sweaty show, the latest video from Hughes Family Band is going to be a fond reminder of those days. Filmed at The Mothership, “Death Of Me” captures a live performance from a single off the band’s debut 7″, complete with shots of plenty of local scenesters and bar patrons. The song also carries a rambling honky-tonk energy about it that feels right for this type of performance clip. It feels like an eternity ago, given the state of the world, but also a great reminder of the way things were, and how things will be again sometime soon. Check out the video for “Death Of Me” below:

If you’ve ever wanted to call a bar a “saloon” or had a incurable craving for Waffle House, the new singles from Hughes Family Band are definitely going to be your jam. The self-described “bar boogie” band put out a pair of new tracks, “Death of Me” and “I Don’t Mind”, and both are sure to get your feet moving and likely some beer flowing. The former is definitely the more radio-friendly of the two, with crisp horns, swelling organs and a groove that would make the Blues Brothers blush. “I Don’t Mind” is the higher energy of the pair, but both work well with each other to set the mood for what Hughes Family Band is all about. You can celebrate the release of the 7″ on Saturday at The Mothership, and stream both new tracks below:
