Experimental-ambient composer David B Collins is out with a new record containing two extended pieces. “Polar Vortex” is a frosty modular synthesizer soundscape inspired by Tristan Muriel’s “Winter Fragments.” “Loom” is a singing bowl and modular synthesizer track inspired by the intricacies and textural shifts of a tapestry. Both pieces employ their sound sources in many dynamic ways; spectral analysis
