Dead Poet Society Drop Tense, Voyeuristic Video for New Single “Sinner Systems” — Watch

Southern California alt hard rock heavyweights Dead Poet Society are back, and they brought a mirror with them. The band — Jack Underkofler (vocals/guitar), Jack Collins (guitar), Will Goodroad (drums), and Dylan Brenner (bass) — just dropped the video for their new single “Sinner Systems,” a low-end, fretless-fueled slab of brooding alt rock that doubles as a quiet indictment of modern excess.

Produced by Paul Meany (Twenty One Pilots, Pierce The Veil) and mixed by Adam Hawkins (Turnstile, Yungblud, Twenty One Pilots), “Sinner Systems” leans into duality: detuned, angular riffs trading punches with melodic hooks, all wrapped around hedonistic lyrics about emotional numbness in the scroll-and-swipe era. The voyeuristic video matches the song beat-for-beat, ratcheting up the tension until it feels like you’ve walked in on something you weren’t supposed to see.

“‘Sinner Systems’ is a dark, brooding song that blends heavy, detuned fretless grooves with addictive, hedonistic lyrics that hold a mirror up to modern excess and emotional numbness,” the band explains. “We explored the duality of the detuned and the melodic and came up with a song that is a cinematic journey for the listener.”

The new single arrives as Dead Poet Society gear up to hit the road with Highly Suspect, kicking things off with a few headline dates and a Welcome to Rockville appearance before joining the tour proper. Given the band’s reputation as a must-see live act — forged over runs with Badflower, Biffy Clyro, and Highly Suspect, plus festival stops at Sonic Temple, Reading and Leeds, and 2000Trees — this is not the kind of bill you sleep on.
