Motionless In White Announce New Album “Decades” Out July 17, Drop “Playing God” Lyric Video Featuring Corey Taylor
Two decades deep and still allergic to daylight, Motionless In White have officially announced their seventh full-length album, “Decades,” set to arrive July 17 via Roadrunner Records. To mark the occasion, the platinum-selling Scranton, Pennsylvania quintet have unleashed a lyric video for the album’s blistering new single “Playing God,” featuring none other than Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor.

If the title “Decades” sounds like a victory lap, that’s only half the story. Across more than 20 years, vocalist Chris Motionless, guitarists Ricky Olson and Ryan Sitkowski, drummer Vinny Mauro, and bassist Justin Morrow have carved out their own pitch-black corner of alternative music — blending metal, hardcore, goth, industrial, and electronic into something that’s now grown big enough to fill arenas. “Decades” is both a return to roots and a sprint into uncharted territory, with their signature darkness still intact.
About the new single, Chris Motionless said, “I can’t believe how aggressive Corey sounds. It’s an observational commentary on toxic internet culture and the people who perpetuate it. The internet has gotten worse and worse to the point where only negativity, hatred, and lies are at the forefront of everything you see. It’s very frustrating because I thought social media was supposed to be a mechanism to connect, but all it does is divide.”
Corey Taylor isn’t the only heavy hitter showing up on “Decades.” The album also features guest spots from Skylar Grey and Dark Divine’s Anthony Martinez. The record was tracked in Upstate New York and Los Angeles with co-producers Drew Fulk and Justin “JD” deBlieck, with the band weaving their past, present, and future into one cohesive statement.
“We were never afraid to take risks,” Chris Motionless reflects. “This band has not only lasted two decades, but we’ve also outlasted all of the obstacles we’ve faced. We’re still grinding. No matter how far we expand the universe that is Motionless In White, we’re going to preserve the heart, soul, and roots of where we came from. We are never going to abandon heartfelt, emotional, and heavy songs.” He adds, “Decades is definitely heavier than some of our past albums. Our current world bred more aggressive energy, anger, and resistance.”
