The Malpass Brothers Channel Classic Country Tradition on New Live Album ‘Satisfied: Country Gospel Classics’

There’s something refreshingly stubborn about The Malpass Brothers. While most of Nashville chases the latest sonic trend, Chris and Taylor Malpass keep doing what they’ve always done — singing tight, harmony-driven country and gospel music the way their grandfather’s record collection taught them to. And on June 26, the North Carolina duo will deliver their most reverent statement yet with the live album and DVD ‘Satisfied: Country Gospel Classics,’ arriving via Gaither Music Group.

The project’s first single, “Satisfied,” is out now and currently available as an instant download with album pre-order. Premiered by Cowboys & Indians, the track is a Martha Carson classic delivered with the kind of warm, unfussy conviction that has become the brothers’ calling card.

“These songs are the ones we grew up on,” The Malpass Brothers shared. “They were part of our everyday life at home, on the road, and backstage. When we set out to make this project, we wanted to keep it simple and honest, and let the songs speak the way they always have. Getting to do that live made it even more special.”

Filmed live at TBN Studios in Hendersonville, Tennessee, ‘Satisfied: Country Gospel Classics’ is a 20-track collection of beloved hymns and gospel standards performed in an intimate concert setting. The track listing reads like a who’s-who of country gospel songwriting, featuring songs from Merle Haggard (“Jesus, Take a Hold”), Charles and Ira Louvin, William J. and Gloria Gaither (“Because He Lives,” “He Touched Me”), Dottie Rambo, and even a closing tip of the hat to Johnny Cash with “Ragged Old Flag.”

Backed by a seasoned band, the duo leans into the warmth, simplicity, and reverence that have made them favorites of traditional country audiences. The brothers were mentored early on by steel guitar legend Don Helms and were famously handpicked by Merle Haggard to open his shows for seven years. Haggard went on to produce their debut album, ‘Memory That Bad,’ and the duo has since worked with Bluegrass Hall of Famer Doyle Lawson on multiple projects.

“Chris and Taylor have a deep respect for the traditions that shaped country and gospel music, and they bring that to life every time they step on stage,” said Paul Sizelove, President of Sun Label Group and Gaither Music Group. “This project captures that authenticity in a powerful way, and we’re proud to partner with them in sharing it with audiences everywhere.”

Beyond the audio album, ‘Satisfied: Country Gospel Classics’ will be released as a full-length DVD and television special. The TV special is set to air on TBN, RFD-TV, The Word Network, Vision, TCT, The Walk TV, TLN, HopeTV, The Miracle Channel, CTS, CTN, and Heartland, with a companion radio special premiering on SiriusXM. Music from the project will also be featured on Bill Gaither’s SiriusXM enLighten channel (Channel 150).

The Malpass Brothers are also in the middle of a packed touring year, with stops including DelFest in Cumberland, Md., their own Malpass Brothers Bluegrass And Country Festival in Denton, N.C., a multi-night Branson residency in October featuring guests like Moe Bandy, T. Graham Brown, and David Frizzell, and dates stretching from Ontario to Texas through December.
