Las Vegas sonic auteurs Roman Candle finally dropped their long-awaited debut album, Unadulterated, via Sumerian Records — and the hype train, for once, was right on the money. To keep the momentum properly molten, the band has today rolled out the official music video for the album’s closing statement, “How To Be Considered When You’re Not In The Room.” It’s the kind of track that opens as worship and ends as something far less forgiving — built around the scathing line, “Consider me even though I fucking hate you,” a perfect distillation of simultaneous devotion and contempt. Seven singles across seven months previewed what Roman Candle were building toward on Unadulterated — twelve tracks that move through misogyny and survival, OCD and religious guilt, industry disillusionment, obsession and retribution. “Putting out Unadulterated feels like finally saying something we’ve been circling for a long time, but never this plainly,” vocalist Piper Ferrari shares. “There’s no distance on this record as it’s all instinct, all nerve.
