AUDIO: Peppers and Pineapples – “Sweet Heat”
Milwaukee’s Fresh Coast riff-rockers Peppers and Pineapples are turning up the heat—literally—with their latest full-length album, Sweet Heat, which dropped on May 2nd.
Clocking in at 12 tracks, Sweet Heat showcases the band’s signature ska-rock sound while cranking the energy dial way past comfortable. The album features collaborations with Tigera, adding another layer of spice to an already loaded sonic buffet. Standout track “Milwaukee Nomad” runs just under five minutes and delivers exactly what fans of the local scene have come to expect: high-octane riffs, an irresistible groove, and a tempo that clocks in around 160 BPM. In other words, this isn’t your chill-in-the-hammock record.
The band has been a consistent presence on WMSE’s Local/Live program and has graced stages at Falcon Hall, the Cooperage, and other Milwaukee haunts throughout 2024-2025. If you caught them live with WURK and Spare Change Trio earlier this year, you already know these folks bring serious heat to every performance.
Sweet Heat is available now on all major streaming platforms. Hit play, crank it up, and let Peppers and Pineapples transport you to a sweatier, more danceable version of the Cream City.
