Amerakin Overdose Drop the Masks for Haunting Acoustic Single “My Endless Battle” feat. Jonny Santos
Portland’s masked menaces Amerakin Overdose just did something nobody saw coming: they took the masks off. The industrial/nu-metal shock rockers — known for theatrical, character-driven chaos rooted in the spirit of Slipknot, Korn, and Mudvayne — have released their first-ever acoustic track, “My Endless Battle,” and it’s a gut-punch of a song that trades pyro and prosthetics for raw, unflinching honesty.
Out now on all major streaming platforms, “My Endless Battle” features Jonny Santos of Spineshank and Silent Civilian, who also produced the track and performed on it alongside Nikolas Roy Quemtri. The accompanying video, filmed and edited by Drumwell Media, marks the first — and, according to the band, likely only — time Amerakin Overdose will appear unmasked in a performance video. That alone tells you how seriously they’re taking this one.
The single is a frank meditation on mental health, depression, and suicide, drawn from frontman Cody Perez’s own journey of recovery and his “never give up” mantra. “‘My Endless Battle’ is putting the scars of life on display,” Perez says. “You never know what someone is dealing with behind the surface. This song is for anyone who feels stuck, suffocating in that darkness, like it’s never going to end. No matter how bad it gets, there’s always a way through it. There’s always hope — and the sun will shine again.”
Musically, it’s a striking left turn. Where Amerakin Overdose typically leans into crushing riffs, electronic textures, and groove-driven aggression, “My Endless Battle” is stripped to bone — acoustic, atmospheric, and radio-ready without sacrificing weight. Santos’s production gives the song room to breathe, letting Perez’s vocal carry the full weight of lyrics like “The sun comes out today / Yet still I look away / Another day lost to an endless fight within myself.” It’s the kind of song that lands harder the quieter it gets.

The single follows a remarkably busy stretch for the band. After dropping their third LP Artificial Infection in July 2024, Amerakin Overdose teamed with Santos for their bold cover of Christina Aguilera’s “Genie in a Bottle” in March 2025, then “Point of No Return” in May, “Nothing (Without You)” in July, and a deranged take on “Feliz Navidad” in November. They kicked off 2026 with “Time Bomb” featuring Tauren Blackman, and Santos is producing their forthcoming fourth album.

New merch is available now at http://www.amerakinoverdoseband.com/merch. For a band whose entire identity has been built on masks and personas, choosing to step out from behind them — even just once — speaks louder than any breakdown. “My Endless Battle” is Amerakin Overdose at their most human, and arguably their most powerful.
