Lee Newton Strips It Back on Intimate New Acoustic Album ‘Beautifully Undone’ — Out Now

Lee Newton has stripped it all back, and the result is something quietly stunning. The Nashville-based, North Carolina-raised singer-songwriter has officially released “Beautifully Undone,” a nine-track acoustic album that pulls fan favorites from across her career out from under any production polish and lets the lyrics do the heavy lifting.

If you’ve been following Newton’s run of traditional country, soulful blues, and Southern rock-tinged releases, this project will feel like an invitation into her living room. “Beautifully Undone” features acoustic reimaginings of “Used To Be Mine,” “Be The Man,” “Stay,” “Go On,” “Strength of a Woman,” “Carolina Rain,” “Your Hat,” “Meant To Be,” and a soulful take on the Hazel Dickens-penned “Workin’ Girl Blues.” Each track was hand-picked for its personal weight, and you can hear it in every breath.

“Creating ‘Beautifully Undone’ was a special experience, bringing these songs back to their roots in a more intimate, acoustic setting,” Newton shared. “Each track was carefully chosen because it holds a deeply personal meaning and reflects the heart behind the lyrics. I hope this project feels honest, refreshing, and connects with listeners in a meaningful way.”

The album rollout has already been a love letter from her home state. Over album release weekend at the Firehouse Inn, Newton was presented with a North Carolina state flag that flew over the State Capitol on April 20, 2026, courtesy of NC General Assembly Representative Jake Johnson on behalf of Governor Josh Stein. Then Rutherford County Commissioner Hunter Haynes and County Manager Bryan King made it official: April 25, 2026, is now “Lee Newton Day.”

“Celebrating ‘Beautifully Undone’ was one of the most meaningful moments of my career, turning a release party into a full weekend of unforgettable memories,” Newton said. “Being able to perform these songs in such a personal way made it all incredibly special.”

A multiple Josie Music Awards winner (including Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year), Newton has shared studio and stage time with Leona Williams, Pam Tillis, T. Graham Brown, Joe Bonsall, and Rhonda Vincent. She also recently teamed up with Georgette Jones and Heidi Parton for a three-part-harmony rendering of “Silver Threads and Golden Needles,” carrying forward a song first cut by Wanda Jackson in 1956 and later championed by Dolly Parton, Tammy Wynette, and Loretta Lynn.
