Uncle Acid and The Deadbeats Drop Fuzz-Drenched New Single “Don’t Let It Control You” — Watch the Super 8 Video

Buckle up and lock the doors — Uncle Acid and The Deadbeats are back in the ditch. The cult psych-rock crew helmed by Kevin Starrs have just unleashed “Don’t Let It Control You,” a blood-soaked, fuzz-drenched new single via their own Killer Candy Records, and it’s every bit as deranged as longtime fans could hope for.

Clocking in at a tight 3:45, “Don’t Let It Control You” rips through psycho rock at chainsaw speed, layering Fuzzrite guitars over driving Stooges-style piano, gleefully out-of-tune harmonies, and Shadow Morton-esque backing vocals. It’s the kind of earworm that doesn’t politely take up residence in your head — it moves in, eats the leftovers, and refuses to leave for the rest of summer.

The single marks the band’s first 7″ release since 2016’s “Pusher Man,” and it serves as the first taster from a forthcoming studio album due later this year. To bring the track to life on screen, the band linked up with low-budget B-movie specialists Tinnitus Productions for an exclusive Super 8 music video that leans hard into the band’s signature grindhouse aesthetic.

Since emerging from the British underground in 2009, Uncle Acid and The Deadbeats have built a reputation on riff-driven cult classics like Blood Lust (2011), Mind Control (2013), The Night Creeper (2015), Wasteland, and the audio-film concept album Nell’ora Blu. With Killer Candy Records now firmly established as their own creative HQ — and a brand new album on the horizon — “Don’t Let It Control You” is a loud, lurid reminder that they remain one of heavy music’s most unmistakable eccentrics.

Press play, pre-order the 7″, and grab tickets while you still can. This one’s going to rot in your brain all summer — and honestly, you should probably let it.
