Crashing Wayward Unleash Soaked, Searing New Single ‘Bullet For A Heart’
Las Vegas modern rock outfit Crashing Wayward aren’t interested in phoning anything in. Their new single ‘Bullet For A Heart,’ out now via Golden Robot Records, is a full-body plunge into raging guitars, razor-sharp vocals, and an unflinching worldview that flatly refuses to make peace with hate and violence.
The track’s centerpiece hook — “Save me/Save yourself/Shower with the bullets full of heart/Lay it down/Lay your weapons down” — gets a gloriously literal treatment in the accompanying music video, released on April 22. Rather than fake it with movie-magic rain standing safely off-camera, the band did what any self-respecting rock band should do: they got in the water and stayed there.
“When the shoot was planned, we had spoken of shooting in front of the rain only looking as if we were getting wet, but decided there was no way we were going to phone in this performance,” explains lead singer Peter Summit. “So we all got in the water and delivered a performance that we only know how to do. The rain falling off us illuminated that energy and although it was a very cold night shot two days before our Pacific Northwest tour in February, we took this risk to make sure we captured the song’s true emotion and raw power.”

The single is a rebooted version of a previously released track, now muscled up with beefier guitar work from David Harris and a sharper mix and master courtesy of producer Shawn McGhee (Disturbed, Drowning Pool, Strung Out, Dark Chapel). It arrives as the latest dispatch from Crashing Wayward’s forthcoming six-song EP The Fight Within, due in Q3 2026 via Golden Robot Records — a release the band promises will take listeners on a kaleidoscopic trip through modern rock’s emotional extremes.
The EP will also feature the band’s previous single ‘Holding For Dear Life,’ which the UK’s Classic Rock magazine crowned a “tight, groovy beefcake of a song… fiery, introspective and energizing at once — the sort of brooding intensity you can dance to,” and which readers voted Track of the Week back in March.
Rounded out by Carl Raether (bass), Tucker Jones (guitar), and Jon Gunder (drums) alongside Summit and Harris, Crashing Wayward sound more confident and more compelling than ever. In their own words, these songs “speak a lot about life as we know it, reflecting outward to inward” — and on ‘Bullet For A Heart,’ that reflection lands with the force of a downpour.
