sace6 Unleash Emotionally Charged New Single “reverie” feat. jxdn Ahead of ‘brutalist’ Album Out May 8 via Sumerian Records
Genre-defying R&B metal duo sace6 just dropped their fourth single from their highly anticipated upcoming album ‘brutalist,’ and it might be their most emotionally charged moment yet. “reverie,” featuring Travis Barker-signed pop-punk firestarter jxdn, arrived today along with an official visualizer — a haunting taste of what the NY/NJ-bred duo has been cooking up for release day on May 8 via Sumerian Records.
According to the band, “reverie” was the spark that lit the fuse for the entire record. “This was the first song or even idea we had started for ‘brutalist,'” sace6 shared. “The song took a shape of its own and had a huge role in creating the sound for the album. Conveying the emotions of a love lost with wishes for rekindling, as well as carrying an undertone of a tension that fractures.”
That tension is exactly what makes sace6 such a compelling project. Formed in 2024 by sace. and Noah Thomas, the duo thrives in the in-between — where pop melody, R&B intimacy, and metal intensity don’t blend so much as they’re forced to coexist. Pair that with jxdn’s unmistakable vocal bite, and “reverie” becomes a study in softness versus distortion, vulnerability versus volume. It’s monochromatic romanticism with teeth.
“reverie” joins previously released tracks “ego,” “covet,” and “allured” as part of the ‘brutalist’ rollout. The full 11-track album will drop Friday, May 8, with features and surprises that are already shaping up to make this one of the most-watched alternative releases of 2026.
