unpeople Unleash Ferocious New Single and Video for “clouds” — Watch Now
UK heavy-hitters unpeople are back, and they’re not here to play nice. The four-piece have just unleashed the video for their ferocious new single “clouds,” out now on SharpTone Records — and it’s a whirlwind of unforgettable hooks, addictive harmonies, crushing riffs, and singalongs that stick in your skull for days.

At its core, “clouds” is a defiant middle finger to external pressure, trend-chasing, and the hollow pursuit of validation — a theme that frontman Jake Crawford describes as the DNA of the band itself.
“‘clouds’ is essentially about not letting yourself be influenced by what other people think you should be doing to get ahead artistically, and trusting your own vision and process,” Crawford explains. “I could feel myself being pulled in lots of directions when we started the band and I’m glad we stuck to our guns. I feel like this song is an excellent representation of us doing just that: ‘Not buying it,’ i.e. quick fixes or hopping on trends — be it musically or the way we present ourselves as a unit.”
It’s fitting messaging from a band whose very name is a statement. “Unpeople” — those deemed politically unimportant or without value — is a concept the group fully embraces, carving out a space for the overlooked, the undervalued, and the quietly furious. Comprised of Jake Crawford, Luke Caley, Em Lodge, and Richard Rayner, the band fuses powerful lyricism, hefty riffs, and melodic accessibility into something that feels genuinely communal rather than calculated.
With only one EP to their name so far — including earlier standouts “the garden” and “waste” — unpeople have already managed to muscle their way into rooms most bands spend a decade trying to reach. They’ve supported Metallica and Coheed & Cambria, and their live reputation is rapidly catching up to the studio hype.
This summer, they’re taking that energy across Europe with a monster run of festival dates, including a Main Stage opening slot at Download Festival.
