Glasswaves Sign to SharpTone Records and Unleash Glitchy New Single “fvck.me.up”

Rochester, New York’s Glasswaves just leveled up in a major way. The dark pop-meets-alt-rock trio has officially signed to SharpTone Records, and to mark the occasion, they’ve dropped a glitchy, gloom-soaked new single and video called “fvck.me.up.”

If you’ve been sleeping on this band, consider this your wake-up call. Formed in May 2023, Glasswaves — vocalist Noah Rich, guitarist Owen Miller, and bassist Brendan Curtis — have spent the last couple of years proving that atmospheric melody and explosive intensity aren’t mutually exclusive. In 2025 alone, they took home the grand prize at the Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands, landed a main stage slot at Warped Tour, and logged nearly 60 shows across roughly 80 days on the road. Not bad for a band barely out of the garage.

“fvck.me.up” is the kind of track that sneaks up on you. It opens with moody electronic textures before bulldozing into massive, distorted guitars and a chorus that refuses to leave your head. According to Rich, the song is about “destructive love and emotional dependency that pulls you toward something you know isn’t good for you but can’t let go of.” Relatable? Uncomfortably so.

“What started as a completely different idea slowly turned into a mix of electronic textures and heavy guitars that just felt right,” Rich explains. “Once the chorus came together, everything really clicked into place.” He adds that the single is “the first piece of a bigger story that will keep unfolding with every release.”

As for their new label home, the band isn’t playing it cool — and honestly, why should they? “Being able to say Glasswaves is signed to SharpTone Records is honestly surreal,” the band shares. “It’s a label we’ve looked up to for a long time, and knowing we’re also connected to the legacy of Nuclear Blast makes it even more meaningful.”

Between the war paint aesthetic, the cinematic sonic palette, and a live show that’s been described as immersive and visceral, Glasswaves are shaping up to be one of the most interesting new signings in the heavy alternative space. If “fvck.me.up” is the opening chapter, the rest of the book should be worth watching.
