The Charlatans UK Announce Fall 2026 North American Tour With The Dandy Warhols, Unveil Mark Gardener Remix of “We Are Love”

Good news for anyone who’s been spinning The Charlatans UK on repeat since roughly 1990: the Tim Burgess-led British institution is coming back to North America this fall, and they’re bringing a couple of seriously enviable friends with them.

The band has just announced a full North American run in support of their acclaimed 14th studio album, We Are Love, out now via BMG. The tour kicks off September 3 at The Observatory in Santa Ana, CA and wraps September 26 at Brooklyn Steel in Brooklyn, NY, hitting nearly every market you’d want in between. The two opening West Coast dates — Santa Ana on September 3 and the iconic Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles on September 4 — will feature direct support from The Dandy Warhols, plus additional special guests to be announced. If that pairing alone doesn’t sell you, check your pulse.

Local pre-sales begin Wednesday, April 22 at 12:00 noon local time, with the general on-sale starting Friday, April 24 at 10:00 AM local. Full ticket details are available at thecharlatans.net.

To mark the occasion, the band has also dropped a gorgeous new remix of the album’s title track, “We Are Love,” reworked by none other than Ride’s Mark Gardener. It’s a shoegaze-meets-Madchester summit that frankly should have happened decades ago — Gardener swirls the original into something hazier, more cinematic, and perfectly suited for late-summer headphone listening.

We Are Love itself has been racking up the kind of reviews most bands four decades in can only dream of. Mojo gave the record a four-star rave, calling it “joy-sparking” and praising the way it “gently distorts the Charlatans’ songwriting surfaces with sudden psychedelic sun-spots and experimental flares.” Recorded between Wales’s legendary Rockfield Studios and the band’s own Big Mushroom studio in Cheshire, the album was helmed by a murderer’s row of producers: Dev Hynes (Blood Orange), Fred Macpherson (Spector), and the legendary Stephen Street (The Smiths, Blur, The Cranberries). The result honors the band’s mighty legacy — 13 albums, 22 UK Top 40 singles, three #1 UK albums, and anthems like “The Only One I Know,” “North Country Boy,” and “One to Another” — without being bound by it.

Singles “Deeper and Deeper” and “We Are Love” have already earned electrifying live performances on Later…with Jools Holland, and the band — Tim Burgess (vocals), Martin Blunt (bass), Mark Collins (guitar), Tony Rogers (keyboards), and Pete Salisbury (drums) — is currently gearing up for a mostly sold-out UK and EU run beginning April 24 at Norwich UEA, followed by summer festival stops in Spain, Ireland, and the UK.
