Thundermother Unleash New Live Album “Live’n’Alive” — 100% Live, 100% Rock ‘n’ Roll
Swedish rock ‘n’ roll juggernauts Thundermother have done the unthinkable in 2026 — they’ve released a live album with no backing tracks, no overdubs, and no re-recorded instruments. Just four musicians, a stage, and the kind of electricity you usually only get by sticking a fork in a wall socket. “Live’n’Alive” is out digitally today via Napalm Records, with physical formats landing July 10, 2026.
Recorded across the band’s 2025 European headline tour in the wake of their chart-conquering sixth album “Dirty & Divine,” “Live’n’Alive” is a 19-track marathon captured in Cologne, Huskvarna, Copenhagen, and Gothenburg. It’s the first full live document of the current lineup — founder and guitarist Filippa Nässil, vocalist Linnéa Vikström Egg, returning bassist Majsan Lindberg, and drummer Joan Massing — and it plays out exactly like their 2025 setlist, uncut and uncompromised.
“It’s all live. We use no backing tracks like almost every band does today. We have made no overdubs or re-recordings of instruments,” Nässil says. “Song order is not compromised, it’s our setlist of 2025, through and through. Hell yeah, this is how it’s done.”
To mark the digital release, the band has unleashed a final single and live video for “The Road Is Ours — Live in Cologne,” a cut originally buried as a bonus track on the deluxe edition of 2020’s Top 10 smash “Heat Wave.” Nässil clearly felt it was time to give the song its flowers: “This song we call ‘ROAD’ is a bonus track on the Heat Wave deluxe album only, and it deserves more attention! The road is ours but we wanna share it with you!”

The tracklist is a proper career-spanning tour of duty, opening with the anthemic “Can You Feel It — Live in Cologne” and ripping through highlights like “Loud and Free — Live in Cologne” (from 2022’s “Black and Gold”), the groovy “Whatever — Live in Gothenburg,” the razor-sharp “Speaking Of The Devil — Live in Huskvarna,” and closing in fist-pumping fashion with a fresh take on their biggest hit, “Driving In Style — Live in Huskvarna.”
Physical pre-orders are live now and come in some genuinely tempting variants, including a strictly limited 2LP Splattered Orange/Black Fire edition with booklet (Napalm Mailorder only), a CD + T-Shirt bundle, 2LP Solid Yellow, and a standard Digipak CD.
Thundermother also have a massive date on the 2026 calendar: August 23 at the legendary Freilichtbühne Loreley in Sankt Goarshausen, Germany, supporting Judas Priest alongside DOMINUM. If you’ve ever wanted to watch a Swedish rock band set a cliffside amphitheater on fire, this is your moment.
“Live’n’Alive” is streaming now on all digital platforms — press play, turn it up, and remember what a real live album sounds like.
