The Runarounds Chase Fleeting Youth on Nostalgic New Single “Bleachers”
The Runarounds are back, and this time they’re trading curfews for choruses. The fast-rising indie rock outfit just dropped their latest single “Bleachers” (out April 17 via AWAL), a shimmering, guitar-soaked anthem built for backseat drives, bonfire nights, and the kind of memories that refuse to fade.

If you’ve ever killed your headlights before pulling into a friend’s driveway or tiptoed down the hallway hoping the dog wouldn’t bark, “Bleachers” will hit you right in the nostalgia. Guitarist and vocalist Axel Ellis says the track started as a love letter to teenage mischief — sneaking out, stealing moments, living like curfews still mattered — before evolving into something bigger: a reminder that the good days don’t have to end just because you’ve aged out of them.
“It’s a reconnection with youth,” Ellis explains. “Recognizing although you might not be in that same place anymore, why not try to keep the good days alive?”
Produced by Daniel Gleason (Grouplove) and TJ Elias (Mastodon, Manchester Orchestra) at 100 Watt Studios in Charleston, SC, “Bleachers” is pure Runarounds DNA — anthemic melodies, emotional urgency, and hooks that sound like they were built for stadium singalongs. It follows recent fan favorites “Arrhythmia (I Hope You Stay)” and “Chasing The Good Times,” cementing the band’s reputation for turning relatable storytelling into arena-sized indie rock.
And make no mistake — this is a band on a serious tear. Their last headline run moved more than 45,000 tickets across 32 shows, forced 12 venue upgrades, and added second nights in both New York City and Nashville. Not bad for a group that started as a weekly beach-bar residency in Wilmington, North Carolina.
The Minivan Tour 2026 is already underway, with debut appearances at Bonnaroo and High Water Festival on deck. A handful of dates are already sold out (Toronto, Charleston, Orlando, and Greensboro, to name a few), so if you want to catch them live, don’t sit on it.
