From Ashes to New aren’t just back — they’re reborn. The Lancaster, PA quintet released their fifth studio album, Reflections, today (April 17) via Better Noise Music, and alongside it comes a brand new video for the track “Forever.” If you’ve been sleeping on this band, now is the time to wake up.

“Forever” is one of those songs that sneaks up on you. It opens with contemplative, almost brooding verses before detonating into towering choruses and crushing breakdowns that remind you exactly why this band has been steadily climbing the rock ladder for a decade. The video, directed by Orie McGuinness, matches that energy perfectly — raw, cinematic, and impossible to look away from.

Vocalist Matt Brandyberry says the track came together at the very end of the recording sessions, almost like it was waiting for everything else to fall into place. “‘Forever’ doesn’t resolve cleanly… It lingers, and that’s exactly what we wanted,” he explains. That sense of unresolved regret and emotional weight is exactly what gives the song its lasting punch.

What makes Reflections a genuinely compelling listen is the story behind it. After wrapping demos for 16 songs in late 2023, the band made the gutsy call to scrap nearly all of them and start over. They kept just two tracks from those original sessions. That kind of creative reckoning — tossing out months of work because you know you can do better — is rare, and it pays off in spades here. The 12-track album finds From Ashes to New pushing dynamics, experimenting with texture, and delivering a record that sounds both honest and hungry.

“This record is a reflection of who we were while making it, but even more than that, it’s a statement of who we’re becoming,” the band says. A running theme of purgatory — being stuck between what’s dragging you down and something better just out of reach — threads through the entire album.

The momentum surrounding From Ashes to New right now is undeniable. Their latest single “Drag Me” is currently Top 10 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock chart, and the band’s European tour saw multiple shows sell out within minutes. Stateside, they’re about to embark on a massive 42-date run supporting Black Veil Brides starting April 25 in Riverside, CA, followed by a summer stint with Shinedown in July and August.
