Southpaw FLHC Announce Debut Album “The Standard” Out July 31 Via Spinefarm, Drop Ferocious “Rolling Stone” Video
Jacksonville hardcore wrecking crew Southpaw FLHC just put the entire scene on notice. The band has announced their debut full-length album, The Standard, arriving July 31 via Spinefarm — and if the new single is any indication, they’re coming for necks.
To mark the occasion, the four-piece — vocalist Daryn LaMontagne, guitarist Alan King, bassist Marc Laroche, and drummer Harrison Linder — has unleashed a bruising new video for “Rolling Stone,” a track that channels the weight of life on the road, the cost of chasing purpose, and the sacrifices that come with carving out a legacy on your own terms.
“‘Rolling Stone’ leans into the reality of living a fast life on the road in pursuit of chasing your purpose,” the band explains. “Losing loved ones and pieces of yourself along the way are part of the game. In the process of moving towards your purpose, the climb feels never ending, yet time continues on. But as a man, you must walk that line in order to create your own path and legacy.”
The track carries an added layer of personal gravity — it’s dedicated to frontman Daryn LaMontagne’s late grandfather. Rest in power, Pops.

The Standard is a ten-track statement of intent from a band that has been building brick by brick since dropping their self-titled EP back in 2020. Since then, Southpaw FLHC has released seven singles with accompanying visuals, toured relentlessly alongside acts like Bodysnatcher, Hoods, and With Blood Comes Cleansing, and headlined the very first show at Jacksonville venue HARDLOVE — packing it wall to wall, naturally.
Their sound sits at the volatile intersection of hardcore, punk, metal, and hip hop, bridging generations of heavy music in a way that feels both reverent and distinctly their own. The partnership with Spinefarm — home to Sleep Token, Bullet For My Valentine, and Dayseeker — signals a serious escalation.
“All gas, no brakes. Driven by hunger, discipline, and a relentless passion for the love of the game. This is The Standard,” the band declares.
