Disco Biscuits, STS9 & Karina Rykman Lead Inaugural Gather Outdoors Lineup
The Gather Outdoors Festival made its debut in Vermont this past weekend, drawing thousands of music lovers to experience three days of performances across multiple stages. The event took place at the Ramblewood venue in Bondville, transforming the mountainside location into a temporary home for electronic and jam music.
Headliners The Disco Biscuits closed out Saturday night with a two-hour set that featured tracks from their latest album alongside crowd favorites “Basis for a Day” and “Helicopters.” The Philadelphia-based quartet demonstrated why they remain a force in the jamtronica world, with guitarist Jon Gutwillig and keyboardist Aron Magner trading solos throughout their performance.
STS9 brought their instrumental prowess to Friday’s main stage slot, performing for nearly three hours without interruption. The band worked through material spanning their twenty-plus year career, including segments from “Artifact” and newer compositions from their 2022 release. Bassist Alana Rocklin anchored the group’s explorations while drummer Russ Liquid pushed the tempo into overdrive during the encore.
Karina Rykman opened the festival Thursday evening with a set that showcased her solo material and bass guitar skills. The New York City musician performed tracks from her “Joyride” EP along with several covers that transformed familiar songs into extended jams. Her band maintained energy throughout the 90-minute performance, setting the tone for the weekend ahead.
Festival organizers confirmed that approximately 4,000 attendees participated across the three days. The event featured two stages, local food vendors, and camping options on the grounds. Planning for the 2025 edition has already begun, with dates expected to be announced this winter.
