This week’s Milwaukee Artist of the Week is AUTOMatic, a group that is consistently known for making authentic hip hop, and has been getting a great deal of exposure for it. The duo of rapper A.P.R.I.M.E. and producer Trellmatic have been working together since 2007. Over that time, they’ve put out three locally acclaimed albums, including their most newest release, October’s “Art Imitates Life”. That release is filled with 11 smooth tracks, all with a classic hip hop sound. A.P.R.I.M.E. has an ability to flow over anything put in front of him, and Trellmatic is known for flipping soul samples and turning them into laid back jams.
