It’s really cool to get music submissions from places where nobody really looks for music. “Iana” is a tape from CJP, a new artist from Skokie, Illinois. I had no idea what to expect when I put this tape on this morning, but I’m impressed with CJP’s style. This is his first release, but you can’t tell that from the sound. CJP adds a real polished, smooth flow to these tracks. To put him in Milwaukee terms, it sounds like a cool mix of Gerald Walker and Frankie Flowers.
