AUDIO: Wave Chapelle Featuring Malcolm Anthony – “Waves”

The Wave is back for the summer, as Wave Chapelle drops off a new single, featuring Malcolm Anthony. The Milwaukee artist, currently making national moves, drops off a new teaser to his upcoming mixtape, “It’ll All Make Sense Soon 2”. Produced by Adrian Lau, the track has a little bit of a different feel than what we’re used to from Wave, who this time opts for a slightly poppier feel. The addition of Anthony on the hook pushes things into crossover territory, as Wave plays his role with some solid verses. We keep getting pieces of what’s to come, and the anticipation is building for “It’ll All Make Sense Soon 2”. Check out “Waves” below:

VIDEO: Von Alexander – “Waves”

Vonny Del Fresco is dead. Von Alexander, who generated his initial buzz under the previous moniker, is very much alive however, and we get to watch that transformation in the stunning Damien Blue directed visuals for “Waves”. In the video, the last of VDF is tied to a tree in the woods and left for dead, and it’s up to Von Alexander to rescue his presence. Luckily, he’s there in time to capture and bottle that essence, and Von Alexander receives new life. This is a perfect metaphor for Von’s transformation, which you can hear on the “Von” EP. The artist once known as Vonny Del Fresco is back, rebranded as Von Alexander, and it appears that he is refocused on greatness, exemplified in recent single “Waves”. Produced by DMND, Von’s style seems to have switched up ever so slightly, with a more ambitious flow than previous releases. There is, however, still the same attention to detail, and the result is a top-notch quality track. Check out “Waves” below:

AUDIO: BKnitts – “Solos”

Milwaukee artist BKnitts has followed up his album “Waves” in a major way with “Solos”. The project, as described by BKnitts, is much more than just an album. The album is a collaboration with producer Paper Wolf, and the duo create a solid soundscape to vibe along to. “This is a piece of me that I am hurling (with care) into the universe, forever” reads his website, which goes into greater detail about what this project means to him. It’s very cool to see that amount of care put into a project, which by the way, sounds great, too. I suggest checking out the website, but if you want to just listen to the project, you can do so below.

MIXTAPE: BKnitts – “Waves”

Milwaukee emcee BKnitts isn’t wasting any time starting off 2015 properly. On New Year’s Day, he released his latest tape “Waves” as a free download. With his share of boom-bap style and some trippy, spaced-out effects along the way, he keeps it moving all in one smooth package. Also… this is a really long tape. Clocking in at over an hour and ten minutes and 26 tracks, there’s plenty of music on here for you to check out. Clearly, BKnitts put in some serious work for this one. Check out “Waves” below:
