Thick Needles have been slowly but surely revealing themselves as a new act in the city, and their newest single, “Walker,” is a total ripper. The band merges psychedelic, indie and punk energy in a way that feels carefree and relentless. Garage rock purists will take some appreciation for what the band is aiming to do, and the way that they incorporate so much while keeping the overall formula fairly simple. With lyrics about a man who keeps to himself at night while roaming the city, the band plays out the manic thoughts that might reside in his head.
