AUDIO: Wave Chapelle – “Lately”

One of the Milwaukee names breaking out on the national scene, Wave Chapelle, is back with a new track, “Lately”. Produced by Greedy Money, “Lately” is a smooth, laid back track that, somehow, you can still bounce along to. Heavily influenced by Yo Gotti, along with the rest of his CMG label, Wave shows some mature, calm tones on the beginning of this track. Then, however, he still manages to turn up before his time is up on the track. Listen to “Lately” below:

File this one under “Allen is way late to the party” as well. I saw WebsterX’s “Lately” video the day that it came out, and surprise surprise, I never got around to putting it up on the blog. In the time since this video, the follow up to the hit “Doomsday”, has come out, Web has signed with a national booking agency, and by the time I hit publish on this post he may be a household name. This is a masterpiece of a video, wonderfully directed by Cody LaPlant & Damien Klaven. Look out for members of New Age Narcissism throughout the clip as well. We’re truly witnessing a renaissance in Milwaukee, and quality work like this is leading the charge. Enjoy the video:

AUDIO: WebsterX – “Lately”

Milwaukee’s WebsterX is currently gaining a lot of traction both inside and outside of the city. His “Doomsday” video blew some doors open, and in reflection of that, he released “Lately”. The introspective track comes of as slightly melancholy, but the track still has a bit of bounce to it, as well. It’s great to see an artist be as honest on a track as WebsterX is here. This feels genuine, and that’s not something you can say a lot about hip hop in general. Check out “Lately”:
