There’s still something to be said for a powerfully creative music video, even if there isn’t a major outlet to play said video anymore. Grimes’ latest, “Kill V. Maim”, is just that sort of powerful creativity, which is good, considering the song comes from a project entitled “Art Angels”. The song is catchy as hell, which is nice, but the visual treatment from Claire and Mac Boucher is something else. If you envision Gwen Stefani’s harajuku dancers getting lost in New York City, taking a bunch of club drugs, and ending up becoming junkies in the subway, you’ve envisioned a good portion of this music video.
