AUDIO: J.O.S.E. – “Music for the Soul, Vol. 2”

Hip hop artist J.O.S.E. recently dropped the sequel to last year’s “Music for the Soul.” With features such as Taiyamo Denku, Meccah Maloh, Zionel, Traxx Sanders, Ca$h, and Markelio, this project finds the rapper comfy with soulful vocal passages and vicious flows that touch on navigation through various traumas and uncertainties. Both J.O.S.E.’s verses and the features carry a general theme of survival within a hostile social climate, such as folks getting killed around him in “Talk About It” and getting tired of seeing coffins in “Sixfeet Deep.” There’s a brutal realness in how J.O.S.E. and his colleagues convey what they have endured to get to where they are now. He’s got visuals in the works as well.
