Happy New… Everything!

Hey everybody,

I’ve been drafting this letter to you, the readers, in my head since about September, so it feels nice to finally put this all down on a page for you to read. I want to explain the current changes that are being made to BreakingAndEntering.net, and what you can expect from Breaking And Entering in the near future:

The first change is something that I haven’t been as transparent about as I’d like to be; I’m currently the only person running Breaking And Entering as of right now. It’s been that way for quite some time, but I’ve still addressed everything as though both Steve and myself were working on this project together. Rather than quitting or starting over, I really enjoy doing this, as well as seeing the following grow, even if that meant that I was doing everything. I feel like it’s important to emphasize that there are absolutely no hard feelings between Steve and I. He has his own interests outside of Breaking And Entering, and I totally respect that. Steve is a major part of the history of Breaking And Entering, and honestly I wouldn’t be where I’m at if it wasn’t for his support.

With that said, I felt that some changes were necessary to make this next phase it’s own unique thing. The most obvious change is the new website layout. I felt as though a complete facelift was needed, and that’s exactly what I’ve done. I hope you like the new layout.

Secondly, Breaking And Entering will exist purely as a blog. While there will still be a store section for t-shirts and other fun stuff, the identity crisis of a clothing company and blog at the same time is no more. T-shirt sales will go into paying for things like a domain name subscription, promo items, projects like The Shenanigans Tour that fall under the Breaking And Entering umbrella, and the other various costs that come with running this website. You can’t find Breaking And Entering shirts in stores anymore. They will be available exclusively through the webstore.

Third, and finally, the biggest change that I’m expecting is more content for you to enjoy. With that, I will be adding contributors to this blog. If you feel as though you want to write about music, or have an idea for something else that you would like to write about here, email me at Allen@BreakingAndEntering.net. In addition to just Milwaukee music, I’m hoping to have a lot of fresh new content, covering national music and lifestyle as well. I’m really amazed at the amount of people that have started to follow us on our various social media channels, and I see nothing but potential for growth in 2014 and beyond. I’ve called this blog my “forever side project”, and I thank you for sharing it and helping it get to this level of popularity.

Thank you, and Happy New Year.

-Allen
