As the seasons were changing, Wave Chapelle was back to work with Cody Ray for a new tape, “Winner’s Circle.” On nine tracks, the two split verses and plenty of quotable bars, with each rapper in their respective bags. Central themes include grinding to get ahead and keeping true to themselves while getting their money, but either rapper sounds like they could take any topic and spit about it effortlessly. “Winner’s Circle” sounds like a master class in rapping, and a welcome addition to the expansive Wave Chapelle catalogue of music.
