Back in January, the “Land By The Lake II” compilation was rolled out in two parts, combining some of Milwaukee’s top tier hip hop talent for unique collaborations. Today, we have the last video from that project, with the premiere of “They Don’t Know” by Escape Artist & King Bravo, shot by Famous Motion & Photography. The track is produced by Auggie Beats, and features both artists spitting some underrated bars over the top of a tough, sample-laden beat. Props to DScribe for putting this project together, as we’ve already heard that “Land By The Lake III” is in the preproduction phases. The new year means new music, and that means we have the second part of the expansive Land By The Lake II mixtape. 20 different artists and 8 different producers contributed to this edition of DSCRIBE’s brainchild, including verses from the Rusty Pelicans, Mad Static, AR Wesley, Klassik, and many more. It’s incredible to see the different sounds and styles come together like patchwork, and while there really isn’t one definitive Milwaukee hip hop sound, this is something any hip hop fan from the city can be proud of. 2018 is going to be a big year for Milwaukee music, and especially the local hip hop scene. We now have both parts of the massive “Land By The Lake” mixtape being released in the near future. In total, the project will have 20 tracks and three videos, featuring a ton of local talent collaborating with one another.
