Maledictis returns today with “Echoes of Conscience,” a chamber rock opus that marks their first release in two years. “Echoes of Conscience” sees Maledictis combine aggression and romaticized lyricism, while maintaining the melodic sensibilities that offset that aggresion perfectly. An eclectic mix of veteran musicians went into this project, and their hard work certainly is reflected in the final product. Everything from choir arrangements to flugelhorns and glockenspiels are involved in this body of work, and it feels as grand as it should.
