The Secret Radio from New York make a striking return with their new single, “Swimming Pool On Mars,” a standout from their debut album called “Shortwave”. The band is led by English singer-songwriter Damian Fowler and they incorpoarate many influences—from Bowie to Radiohead—into a sound that’s cinematic, emotionally rich, and impossible to ignore.
The song starts with a piano introduction and then we are headfirst into a surreal atmosphere, where the band fuse dramatic instrumentation with artful storytelling. Crisp guitar hooks emerge as well as steady drums, and synth textures which build a dreamlike sound, while Fowler’s vocals—raw yet melodic—deliver a narrative that feels personal.
As the track unfolds, we are introduced to sweeping arrangements and emotional peaks.
