Metal outfit It Is Dead released a new record recently, and they’re as punishing as ever on “Liberate, Upon The Altar Of Freedom.” Across eight tracks, the band bring the intensity, and have no problem turning things up to full thrash when the song calls for it. Fierce scowls and empassioned yells are offset by drums and guitars that absolutely move at breakneck speed on this take-no-prisoners release. The band shy away from the metal epic, though, keeping songs largely under three minutes each. It’s quality over quantity, and you can hear it for yourself here:
