Pay Dirt have a new record out today, and they lean into DIY ethos and a mixture of funk and punk elements on “Defacement (A Midwest Crime Story).” The seven-track release comes on the heels of monthly drops leading up to this point, and having a full release gives you more of a chance to revel in their sound. Led by previous release “Born In The USA,” the band is loud and brash, even if that noise is restrained by the DIY recording.
