*aya has a new project out as of this past Friday, and the mood is light on “Slow Burn.” The seven-track release is full of smooth vocals over lightweight beats that are dead set on putting you at ease. Appearances from MeloChld and FTBK work well in contrast to *aya’s chilled out vocals, and the whole project has an ariness about it that feels genuinely releaxing. The vocals come from the heart, and it ends up being a master class in creating just the right vibe. If you need something to slow you down, this is a project to do it, in all the right ways.
