AUDIO: Shroud of Despondency – “The Silent Note of the Coldest Night”

Long-running black metal band Shroud of Despondency recently released an old record they recorded in 2011-12 but were left unsatisfied by the result. After re-sampling the drums and redoing the guitars, they put it back out and now it’s more crisp than ever. Brooding soundscapes thematically centered around the reflection of the moon on the water while also containing lyrics about anxiety and living in the shadows are what you can expect – a must-listen for fans of atmospheric metal. The cover art is of Lake Superior. Shroud of Despondency have released over fifteen studio albums and numerous splits since their inception in the late 90’s.
